More rains predicted across the country

ISLAMABAD: More rain with windstorms and thunderstorms is likely in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Islamabad, Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and upper/southwestern Balochistan during the next twelve hours.

Rain with thunderstorms is expected in upper/southwest Sindh on April 18 and 19, according to the weekly forecast of the Pakistan Meteorological Department.

“A strong westerly wave is affecting most parts of the country and likely to persist during next 36 hours,” the Met Office.

On April 18, the PMD said that rain-windstorm/thunderstorm with isolated hailstorm is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Islamabad, Punjab, Balochistan and upper/southwest Sindh.

Isolated heavy falls are expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, northeast Balochistan and northeast Punjab. Hailstorm is also expected during the forecast period. Snowfall is also expected over high mountains in northern areas.

TEMPERATURE OF MAJOR CITIES RECORDED THIS MORNING:

Islamabad seventeen degrees centigrade, Lahore twenty, Karachi twenty-four, Peshawar sixteen, Quetta ten, Gilgit thirteen, Murree seven and Muzaffarabad fourteen degrees centigrade.
