Grossman is a well-known socialite from Los Angeles. She co-founded the Grossman Burn Foundation with her husband, Dr Peter Grossman. Despite her background, she was found guilty of second-degree murder.

While prosecutors sought a harsher sentence, the judge presiding over the case opted for a more lenient term.

The accident occurred when Grossman reportedly raced through a residential area after drinking alcohol at a brunch. Her car struck the young boys as they were crossing the street.

During the trial, Rebecca Grossman maintained her innocence but was convicted. However, her letters to the boys’ family expressed remorse and pleaded for forgiveness. Despite facing legal barriers to communicate, the socialite sought reconciliation with the grieving parents.

In her letters, Grossman also shared her personal struggles, including a difficult childhood and the loss of her mother shortly after the car accident.

However, prosecutors argued that the socialite was attempting to shift blame onto others. They pointed her her alleged disregard for human life and refusal to accept responsibility for her actions.

The internet is also divided, with some advocating for leniency, citing the socialite’s philanthropy. Other argue that justice needs to prevail.
