Pakistani rupee falls 5 paisa against US dollar

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani rupee (PKR) edged down by 5 paisa, US dollar (USD) in the Tuesday interbank market, closing the day at PKR 277.85 USD.

Separately, the gold prices in Pakistan surged to a new record on Wednesday, continuing their upward trend in line with rising international rates.

In the local market, the price of gold per tola increased by Rs 2,500, reaching an all-time high of Rs 275,500, according to data from the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
