Authorities advised commuters to seek out alternative routes.

Meanwhile, traffic on Murree Road remained largely unaffected, offering some respite for commuters entering and exiting the city.

To manage the situation, law enforcement personnel have been stationed at the interchange to assist traffic management and ensure the safety of drivers.

Drivers were advised to remain updated on the current traffic conditions and adjust their travel plans accordingly. Officials said they are working diligently to address the issue, with more information expected.

Pakistan army deploys troops in Islamabad

Meanwhile, in the capital, the army took control of the security operations as protests and unrest continued in the city.

As per sources, the army’s deployment aims to secure the perimeter around rioters and armed groups. This is ensure the safety of citizens and their property.

The military presence is intended to deter any potential violence.

The Interior Ministry issued orders for the army’s deployment under article 245 of the constitution, which alllows for military assistance in maintaining public order.

The process of troop deployment in the vicinity of Islamabad was completed.

Similarly, Islamabad police along with the rangers were also active in the area. Inspector Syed Ali Rizvi said that the police’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of the citizens.

He stated that those who took law into their own hands would face ‘severe consequences’.

Reports emerged of clashes between the protestors and law enforcement agencies, with police officers sustaining injuries from stone-pelting.
