ECNEC approves outsourcing of Islamabad airport

ISLAMABAD: The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) granted approval on Saturday for the outsourcing of Islamabad International Airport.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar chaired the meeting, during which several national development projects were also given the green light.

Last month, Aviation Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique announced that the government would outsource the management of Islamabad International Airport to a third party for a period of 15 years to enhance its operational activities.

The Islamabad Airport is the second busiest one in the country after the Jinnah International Airport, Karachi.
