Demi Moore wins Golden Globe after 45-year career

BEVERLY HILLS: Demi Moore received her first major acting award at the 2025 Golden Globes Awards, following 45 years in the entertainment industry.
She won the Golden Globe for the “Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy” for her role in “The Substance”.

The 62-year-old expressed surprise and gratitude during her acceptance speech. The veteran actress noted that the recognition marked a huge milestone in her decades-long career.
In her speech, Demi Moore mulled over her extensive and high-profile acting career, which began with her television debut in 1978 and her first film role in 1981.
The actress detailed the challenges she had had to face along the way, including a past comment from a producer who reportedly labelled her a “popcorn actress”.
She stated that the remark left a lasting impact on her self-perception and led to her to believe that she could achieve commercial success but would not receive critical.
Demi Moore shared that she had reached a low point in her career when the script for “The Substance” came to her. The movie explores themes of aging and societal pressures, and features Moore as Elisabeth Sparkle, a celebrity who takes extreme measures to regain her youth after being dismissed due to her age.

The movie garnered a positive reception with many critcis praising her performance as a standout.
Demi also talked about the importance of self-resilience and self-acceptance, celebrating her win as a marker of her growth as an artist.
