Normalcy returns to Chitral after border attack

CHITRAL: The perpetrators of the September 6 attack on Federal Constabulary (FC) check posts along the Pak-Afghan border have been pushed back and they have suffered heavy casualties, said Chitral Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Khan in a statement, accompanied by District Police Officer (DPO) Akramullah Khan.

Chitral officials have issued a crucial statement to provide updates on the current situation and security measures taken to ensure the safety of the region. DC Chitral said that at approximately 5 a.m. on Wednesday, the FC check posts in the area came under attack.

He said that swift action was taken by the Pakistan Army in response to this aggression. As a result, the attackers were repelled, and they suffered heavy casualties during the operation.

He added, “I assure you that the situation is not only under control, but the brave people of Chitral and the Pakistan Army are determined to eliminate any terrorist threat within our region.” He emphasized the resilience and determination of the Chitral community in supporting anti-terrorism efforts.

The officials confirmed that all schools, universities, hospitals, and markets in Chitral remain open, and daily life is continuing normally. To reinforce security measures, additional personnel from law enforcement agencies have been deployed to the area. Joint police and FC check posts have been established to enhance vigilance and maintain peace.

DC Chitral commended the unwavering support of the people of Chitral for the state, expressing confidence that they will stand united and strong against any threat. He likened their unity to an impenetrable wall in the face of any adversary.
