24-karat gold price drops by Rs1,100 per tola

KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan fell on Thursday, after a decline in international rates, erasing gains from the previous session.

The price of gold per tola in the local market dropped by Rs1,100, settling at Rs274,400, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA). Similarly, the price for 10 grammes of gold decreased by Rs943, reaching Rs235,254.

This decline came after an increase of Rs600 on Wednesday, which had pushed gold to Rs275,500 per tola.

Internationally, gold prices also dropped on Thursday, with the rate reported at $2,642 per ounce (including a $20 premium), down by $11 for the day, as per APGJSA.

Meanwhile, silver prices in Pakistan remained unchanged at Rs3,050 per tola.
