Gold price breaks record again, now at Rs268,000 per tola


KARACHI: The price of gold in Pakistan kept rising on Monday, following the trend of increasing international rates.

In the local market, the price per tola of gold went up by Rs1,700, reaching Rs268,000, which is now a new all-time high for the country.

Moreover, the price of 10 grammes of gold also increased by Rs1,458, bringing it to Rs229,767, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).

Just two days earlier, on Saturday, the price of gold had increased by Rs400 to settle at Rs266,300.

At the same time, international gold prices also rose on Monday. According to the APGJSA, the international rate was $2,587 per ounce (with a premium of $20), which marked a $10 increase for the day.

Meanwhile, the price of silver stayed unchanged at Rs2,950 per tola.
