Gold prices in Pakistan surge by more than Rs1,000 amid global market uptick

WEB DESK: On Monday, gold rates in Pakistan surged considerably, mirroring the trends in the global market.
The precious metal, influenced by a $9 increase in the international rate, was valued at Rs209,600 per tola, marking a significant uptick of Rs1,250.
This surge was confirmed by the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), which reported that the 10-gramme gold price settled at Rs179,698 after a rise of Rs1,072.
This increase came after a substantial jump of Rs2,200 on Friday, bringing the rate to Rs208,500 per tola.

Internationally, gold was trading at $2,001 per ounce, further bolstering the rise in prices within the Pakistani market.
Amidst this surge, silver rates remained stable at Rs2,550 per tola, indicating a distinct trend in the precious metals market.
