The day began with positive sentiment, as the KSE-100 index surged by 286 points to a high of 72,888. Investors appeared optimistic in the early hours of trading, responding to encouraging market signals.

However, the upward momentum proved short-lived, with a shift in direction as the session progressed. This downturn led the index to a low of 72,325.34 before recovering to close with a modest gain.

The fluctuations in the PSX on Thursday followed a similar pattern seen on Wednesday, when the benchmark index ended the session at 72,601.81.

The mixed performance over the two days reflects broader market uncertainties, with investors keeping a cautious eye on both local and global economic trends.
