WEB DESK: In a bid to ensure a secure and incident-free counting process, troops from the Army and Civil Armed Forces have been stationed outside the Returning Officers’ (RO) offices, according to an official notification.

The deployment of military and civil armed forces personnel aims to safeguard the integrity of the vote-counting process until its completion. The heightened security measures are designed to preempt any potential security incidents during this crucial phase, as outlined in the notification.

It is emphasised in the notification that the Army and civil armed forces are not involved in the election process itself. Their sole responsibility is to provide external security for the RO’s offices, reinforcing their commitment to maintaining a neutral and impartial stance.

The notification further clarifies that the election staff exclusively handles the vote-counting process within the polling offices. This segregation of duties underscores the adherence to established protocols and reinforces the transparency of the electoral process.

As the nation awaits the results, these security measures underscore the commitment to conducting a fair and secure counting process, ensuring the democratic exercise is carried out without any hindrance or untoward incidents.
