19 terrorists killed in Quetta, Kech operations: ISPR

ISLAMABAD: Security forces have killed 19 Indian-sponsored terrorists in separate intelligence-based operations in Balochistan’s Quetta and Kech districts, the military’s media wing said on Wednesday.
“Thirteen terrorists were killed during a clearance operation in the Shaban area of Quetta district, while six others were killed in separate engagements in Kech and western Quetta,” according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The ISPR said that an intelligence report had indicated the presence of multiple hideouts of Indian-sponsored Fitna Al Khawarij and Fitna Al Hindustan in Shaban, posing a threat to the local population.
Security forces launched the clearance operation in the area on September 21 to protect residents and clear the area of militants.
“During the operation, troops engaged and cleared multiple terrorist hideouts following intense exchanges of fire, killing 13 terrorists so far,” the ISPR said. Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the hideouts.
The clearance operation will continue until the threat in the area is completely neutralised, it added.
Six terrorists killed in separate operations
In separate engagements on September 22 and 23, security forces conducted intelligence-based operations in Kech district and western Quetta.
Six terrorists were killed following intense exchanges of fire, while weapons and ammunition were recovered, according to the ISPR.
Subedar Muhammad Jamil, 39, from Taunsa Sharif in Dera Ghazi Khan, was also martyred during the exchange of fire, the ISPR said.
The ISPR described Jamil as having made the “ultimate sacrifice” in the line of duty.
The ISPR said that the counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam”, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, would continue at full pace.
Security forces and law enforcement agencies remain committed to eliminating foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
President, PM, interior minister laud security forces over Balochistan operations
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi have praised security forces for their operations against Indian-sponsored militants in Quetta and Kech, in which 19 terrorists were killed.
President Zardari said that the killing of the militants was a testament to the professional capabilities of the security forces.
He also paid tribute to Subedar Muhammad Jamil, who was martyred, saying his sacrifice reflected the security forces’ unwavering commitment to the country’s peace and security.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also praised the security forces for killing 19 terrorists in a clearance operation in the Shaban area of Quetta district.
He said the killing of six more militants during intelligence-based operations in Kech and western Quetta demonstrated the effectiveness of the security forces’ strategy.
The prime minister paid tribute to Subedar Muhammad Jamil, saying his sacrifice in defence of the country was a matter of pride for the nation.
He also expressed condolences to the soldier’s family and said security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue operations until terrorism was completely eliminated.
“Foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism will be eliminated at all costs,” the prime minister said.
He said that the nation stood with its security forces and law enforcement agencies in the fight against terrorism.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also praised the security forces for killing 19 militants in the Balochistan operations, commending their courage and professional capabilities.
“Operations against the enemies of peace are continuing with full force in Balochistan,” Naqvi said.
He described security forces personnel as the pride of the nation and paid tribute to Subedar Muhammad Jamil for sacrificing his life while confronting the militants.
“Subedar Muhammad Jamil sacrificed his today for the peaceful tomorrow of the nation,” Naqvi said.
