American Idol Top 3 contestants revealed as finale approaches

WEB DESK: Famous singing reality show “American Idol” narrowed down its contenders to the top 3 for the 22nd season as the competition progresses towards its finale.
Following the Disney-themed second-final episode on Sunday, the reality show’s top 3 contestants emerged: Abi Carter, Jack Blocker, and Will Moseley. Triston Harper and Emmy Russell were eliminated.

The episode showcased performances from the top five contestants, who delivered renditions of famous Disney songs. In particular, country singer Kane Brown mentored the top five contestants during their trip to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.
Meanwhile, Disney also this opportunity to announce a new resort for their Walt Disney World Resort: Tiana’s Bayou Adventure that will open next month.
Emmy Russell’s elimination surprised many, given her early favouritism as the granddaughter of a famous country singer. Despite strong performances throughout the season, she failed to make it to the finals.
The remaining contestants will now vie for the title of American Idol on May 19 during a three-hour finale special. The rock music legend Jon Bon Jovi will also mentor the top 3 contestants of American Idol.
This season’s judges panel included Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan. However, Perry announced the latest season as her final one. She plans to pursue other projects once the show culminates.
Meanwhile, Ryan Seacrest continued his role as the host. He is one of longest running host on The American Idol.
The upcoming three-hour finale will feature performances from some of most famous acts in the US. The finale will feature performances by Jon Bon Jovi, New Kids on the Block, Jason Mraz, Seal, Wynonna Judd, and Hootie and the Blowfish. The finale will air on American Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) and will be available for streaming on Hulu.

Over its 22-year run, American Idol helped launch the careers of several mainstream artists. Giants such as Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, and Adam Lambert started off their career from AI. Even the more now-mellowed acts such as David Archuleta enjoyed successful years before starting other ventures.
American Idol’s lasting popularity and cultural impact have solidified its position as one of the most successful reality competitions in television history.
