Egg prices in Lahore continue to rise

LAHORE: Egg prices in Lahore skyrocketed to a record high on Wednesday, as the official rate for farm eggs witnessed an additional increase of Rs2 reaching an unprecedented Rs378 per dozen.

In the market, eggs are fetching prices well beyond Rs450 per dozen, surpassing expectations. The official wholesale rate for eggs has been firmly established at Rs11,220 per crate.

The cost of broiler chicken meat has also surged by Rs11 per kilogram in the city. The market committee has set the official meat price at Rs541 per kilogram. The live wholesale rate for broiler chicken stands at Rs360, and poultry is priced at Rs374 per kilogram.
