Firing in Karachi leaves at least two injured


At least two people were injured when firing broke out in late hours of Thursday in Old Golimar, a neighbourhood in western part of the city.

KARACHI: At least two people were injured when firing broke out in late hours of Thursday in Old Golimar, a neighbourhood in western part of the city.

According to the police, the firing stemmed from a personal dispute. While one of the injured was swiftly shifted to Civil Hospital, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

Similarly, another firing incident near the Khyber Bridge Banaras left at least one person injured.

According to rescue authorities who swiftly arrived on the scene, the victim was transferred to a hospital for medical treatment.

In another incident near the bridge, a person sustained injuries when motorcycle-riding suspects opened fire at a car.

While the matter is currently under investigation, the police suspect the motive as a potential attempted robbery.

Meanwhile, an alleged police encounter took place on Jigar Muradabadi Road.

As per police, one suspect was arrested while his accomplice managed to flee. The police said that arms and a motorcycle were recovered from the accused.

The police also claim the accused were involved in a string of crimes reported in the area. Police have registered four cases against the accused across different police stations.

Elevator malfunction leaves one person injured

In Saddar, Karachi, an elevator in a private hotel malfunctioned. One person sustained minor injuries.

The local police confirmed the incident, stating that the injured person received first aid immediately.
