Hot, dry weather to persist today; rain likely in the north

WEB DESK: The weather is expected to remain hot and dry across most parts of the country on Sunday, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). However, there is a possibility of rain accompanied by strong winds and thunder in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Going region by region, in Islamabad and surrounding areas, the weather will remain dry and hot throughout the day.

In Punjab, most districts will experience hot and dry conditions, but there may be light rain with strong winds and thundershowers in Murree, Galiyat, Mianwali, Layyah, Bhakkar, and Dera Ghazi Khan in the afternoon.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will see dry weather in the plains, while upper districts and areas including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Kurram, Bajaur, Khyber, Orakzai, Bannu, and Waziristan may experience rain with strong winds and thunder in some locations.
Sindh will have hot and dry weather across most districts, though the coastal areas will see partly cloudy conditions.

In Balochistan, hot and dry weather is expected in most districts, but in the evening or night, areas such as Musakhel, Barkhan, and nearby regions may receive rain with gusty winds and thunder.
In Kashmir, the weather will remain dry and partly cloudy, while Gilgit-Baltistan may see rain with gusty winds and thunder at a few places.
