ISLAMABAD: Hyderabad is set to join the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as the league expands to seven teams, with reports suggesting the new franchise could be named “Kingsmen Hyderabad”. No final decision has been made yet, sources said
The franchise has been acquired by the US-based FKS Group, led by Fawad Sarwar, which also owns the Chicago Kingsmen cricket team in the United States. The shared branding could create synergy between the two teams.
Hyderabad’s team was sold at a high-profile auction held at Islamabad’s Jinnah Convention Centre, where FKS Group secured the franchise with a winning bid of PKR 175 crore.
FKS Group is a major South-East Asian holding company with diverse interests in food and agriculture, infrastructure, and property. It is known for its strong logistics, supply chain, and trading expertise, managing operations from sourcing to refined products. The group has also expanded into industrial estates, real estate development, and, most recently, cricket franchise ownership in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the Sialkot franchise, owned by OZ Developers, has been officially named Sialkot Stallions.
With two new teams joining, PSL 11 is expected to be more competitive. Franchises are likely to reveal logos, jerseys, coaching staff, and player rosters in the coming weeks, setting the stage for an exciting season.
