India shelling civilians at LoC, Pakistan using small arms: DG ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif on Friday said India is deliberately targeting innocent civilians along the Line of Control (LoC) using heavy weapons, while dismissing Indian claims of drone and rocket attacks from Pakistan as baseless propaganda.

In an interview with TRT World, the DG ISPR said that India has been intensifying its aggression by shelling civilian areas near the LoC.

“Unfortunately, India is deliberately targeting innocent people, including children, women, and the elderly,” he said, adding that in response, Pakistan has been striking Indian military targets using only small arms in self-defence.

The military spokesperson firmly denied India’s allegations of drone and rocket attacks originating from Pakistan, saying no such action was taken by Pakistani forces.

“India has launched false propaganda, claiming attacks with drones and rockets in occupied Kashmir. These are fabricated and completely baseless claims without any evidence,” he said.

He challenged India to provide concrete proof if it claims to have captured a Pakistani Air Force pilot. “Whenever a target is hit, there is always clear evidence. If India has any, it should present it.”

The DG ISPR also pointed out the propaganda and misinformation Indian media is spreading to mislead the world with fabricated stories and unverified claims.

Commenting on the recent Pahalgam attack, the DG ISPR said India has yet to provide any credible evidence linking Pakistan.

He reminded that Pakistan had formally offered an independent investigation, which India rejected. “Pakistan urges India to allow a neutral inquiry instead of making baseless accusations.”

The ISPR chief further revealed that India has targeted six locations in Pakistan, including mosques, places of worship, and civilian homes, causing casualties among non-combatants.

Condemning India’s repeated use of the “outdated narrative” regarding militant organisations to justify attacks on Pakistani soil, DG ISPR called it a politically motivated tactic.

He reiterated that Pakistan strongly rejects all such baseless allegations and demands that any investigation be conducted by an impartial body.

“India cannot be allowed to act as judge, jury, and executioner,” the DG ISPR said, stressing that using terrorism-related incidents for political objectives must be firmly resisted.
