PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has started an inquiry against Judge Humayun Dilawar and his family, credible sources told Hum Investigation Team.

The KPK Anti-Corruption Department secretly started an inquiry against Judge Humayun Dilawar and his family members in Bannu.

The KP government started an inquiry against Judge Humayun Dilawar months after he had given a verdict against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the Tosha Khana case.

Anti-corruption KPK has sought the details of all the assets of Judge Humayun Dilawar and his family from all the relevant institutions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, informed officials said.

After receiving complaints against Judge Humayun Dilawar, anti-corruption has started an inquiry to probe the facts, the spokesperson of the KP government, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif confirmed to the Hum Investigation Team.

“The investigation is at the early stage, and if evidence is found, action will be taken,” said Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif.

“In case anti-corruption finds no evidence, the inquiry will be terminated,” he added.

The KP Anti-Corruption has sought details of the family property of Judge Humayun Dilawar and his family members from the district administration of Bannu, tax authorities, revenue board and SECP, officials added.

The department also sought a record of the development in Union Council Mohmand Khel.

Also, the revenue department submitted records of the housing society, CPEC Residential built on the family land of Dilawar Khan in Bannu with the Anti-Corruption Department.

Records of properties of the Dilawar family have been sought from the anti-corruption circle, added the officials. Judge Humayun Dilawar and his family members are being subjected to revenge for no reason, according to Ahmed Sadiq, the lawyer of the Dilawar family and CEO of CPEC Residencia Society.

The available record, exclusively obtained from the concerned officials, suggested that the under-inquiry land and two development projects were initiated by PTI’s lawmakers in the previous regime. Official records further suggested that the land was acquired even before 1969 and no disputes were involved with the said matter after 1998.

After completion of all the legal essentials, the housing society is being constructed on the family’s inherited land which currently has had no legal dispute with anyone, Ahmed Sadiq said all the formalities were completed before the Tousha Khana case issue last year.

On alleged conflict of interest, he said, “The development works in Bannu, including the bridge, were included by the previous provincial government in its annual development budget programme.” The PTI government is only targeting the Dilawar family because of the Tosha Khana case, lawyer Ahmed Sadiq added.
