Lana Del Ray marriage: Singer ties knot with alligator tour guide

The “Summertime Sadness” singer decided to take relationship advice from her own songs, it seems. Her relationship with the alligator tour guide was as long as a single summer season.

While Lana may have met her future husband in March 2019, when she posted images on her social media handles with him and her friends, she only confirmed the relationship in March 2024 via a post on image-sharing social media platform Instagram.

Fast forward to May 16 is when she would name-drop him in a caption titled “Family w[ith] my guy @jeremy.dufrene”.

What has left many bewildered is that the “Chemtrails over the Country Club” singer applied for a marriage license on September 26, as per TMZ.

On the same day, news spread like wildfire across the internet that Lana Del Ray and Jeremy Dufrene tied the knot.

Our Lana is well-known for controversies for as long as her singing career has been around, from allegations of cultural appropriation to lack of people of colour in her work, to catching people’s ire by dating a police officer at the height of racial tensions in the US.

Her current beau is no exception. Curious as the public and fans of such a big popstar will be, a little digging into the Dufrene’s social media accounts turned up things less than savoury for many.

Jeremy Dufrene is reportedly a fan of former US president Donald Trump and has praised Russian President Vladimir Putin.

He also has shared or liked a lot of posts many construe as transphobic.

Much like her dismissive remarks when confronted with controversial partners, “He’s a good cop, he gets it” was replaced with a single, short, snappy “No”! Guess she really does get it.

While not much is known about Jeremy Dufrene, he is a father of three, and separated from his ex-wife. He resides in the state of Louisiana, and works at a tour boat company called Airboat Tours by Arthur in Des Allemands.

The 56-year-old takes tourists on excursions during which he feeds alligators in the local swamps.
