NDMA predicts rain and snowfall across Pakistan in next 12–24 hours

ISLAMABAD: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has forecast widespread rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall across various parts of the country within the next 12 to 24 hours.
According to the advisory, most regions of Pakistan are likely to experience rain accompanied by thunder and strong winds, while upper and mountainous areas may also see snowfall.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain and windstorms are expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Malakand, Kohistan, Mingora, Battagram, Haripur, Peshawar, and Mansehra, with several districts likely to experience thunderstorms.
NDMA further stated that rain is also expected in Abbottabad, Mardan, Swabi, Charsadda, Kohat, Karak, and Bannu.
In Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, snowfall is likely in upper and hilly regions, while various areas in both regions may also receive rain.
For Punjab, thunderstorms and rain are forecast in Islamabad as well as Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Gujrat, and Hafizabad.
In Balochistan, Quetta, Zhob, Ziarat, Qila Saifullah, Pishin, and Barkhan are expected to experience rain accompanied by strong winds.
NDMA has advised citizens and local authorities to remain alert, particularly in vulnerable and mountainous regions where weather conditions may intensify.
