DHAKA: In Sylhet, Bangladesh have taken control of the second Test against Pakistan after bowling them out soon after tea on Day 2 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

Pakistan were all out for 232 in 57.4 overs, giving Bangladesh a 46-run first-innings lead. Babar Azam was the top scorer for Pakistan with 68 runs.

At tea, Pakistan were already struggling at 206-8 and still trailing by 71 runs. After the break, they added just one more run before losing their final wickets.

Sajid Khan played a short but aggressive knock of 38 off just 28 balls, hitting four sixes and two fours. He even smashed three consecutive sixes off Nahid Rana, but was eventually dismissed by the same bowler.

For Bangladesh, Nahid Rana and Taijul Islam were the standout bowlers, sharing six wickets between them. Taskin Ahmed and Mehidy Hasan Miraz took two wickets each.

Earlier in the innings, Pakistan had shown some resistance through Babar Azam, who scored a fluent 68 off 84 balls with 10 fours. He also shared a 63-run partnership with Salman Ali Agha after Pakistan were in early trouble.

However, once Babar was dismissed, Pakistan’s batting collapsed again. Salman Ali Agha was caught at the boundary while attempting a sweep shot off Taijul Islam after making 21 runs.

Mohammad Rizwan was bowled by Taijul for 13, while Hasan Ali tried to fight back with 18 runs but was eventually dismissed after a sharp catch by Nahid Rana.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan had already lost early wickets, with Taskin Ahmed removing both Abdullah Fazal and Azan Awais cheaply. Captain Shan Masood and Babar Azam had briefly steadied the innings with a 38-run stand, but Pakistan lost momentum before lunch and were reduced to 79-4.
