Pakistan Railways announces fare reductions for passenger trains

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Railways has announced a fare reduction for passenger trains across all classes. effective August 3.

The new fares, outlined in the official notification, apply to all train classes. AC class ticket prices have been reduced by Rs100 to Rs150 while economy class fares have been cut by up to Rs50

This adjustment aims to make train travel more affordable across all passenger train services.

On Wednesday, the federal government reduced petrol prices by Rs6.17, bringing the new rate to Rs269.43 per litre. Additionally, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has been cut by Rs10.86 per litre, now standing at Rs272.77.
