Pakistan’s stance on Pahalgam vindicated globally, says Info Minister Tarar

Pakistan says India failed to provide evidence on Pahalgam incident

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has reiterated Pakistan’s position on the Pahalgam incident, crediting Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s address at Pakistan Military Academy Kakul as a key diplomatic moment.

In a press conference today, Tarar said that the prime minister had clearly outlined Pakistan’s stance as early as April 2025, rejecting what he described as “baseless allegations” from India regarding the Pahalgam incident.

He noted that Pakistan had responded firmly during a National Security Committee meeting and later through the prime minister’s speech, which he called a “historic” and “turning point” moment on the diplomatic front.

According to the minister, Pakistan not only expressed sympathy for the victims of the incident but also called for an impartial investigation, an offer he claimed India did not accept. Tarar argued that this response strengthened Pakistan’s credibility internationally and raised questions about India’s position.

He accentuated Pakistan’s long-standing sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, stating that the country has lost over 90,000 lives and suffered economic losses exceeding $600 billion. Tarar maintained that Pakistan continues to act as a frontline state against terrorism, while accusing India of promoting destabilizing activities in the region.

The minister also reiterated that Pakistan considers water security a “red line,” warning against any attempts to use it as leverage. He added that Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully capable of responding to any aggression, and that the nation stands united in defense of its sovereignty.

Tarar concluded by saying that the prime minister’s Kakul speech will be remembered as a defining moment that reinforced Pakistan’s narrative globally, gaining international recognition and strengthening the country’s diplomatic standing.
