PCB begins search for new bowling coach as Ashley Noffke joins Netherlands

Former Australia cricketer Ashley Noffke has resigned as Pakistan’s bowling coach and joined the Netherlands men’s team as head coach on a two-year contract, according to sources.

Noffke, who joined the Pakistan team as bowling coach in May last year, is leaving the role for personal reasons and will not continue with the national side after the Asian Games, the sources said.

He will now take charge of the Netherlands men’s team and is expected to oversee the side during the 2027 Men’s World Cup and the 2028 T20 World Cup qualifying tournament.

PCB begins search for replacement

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has started the process of appointing Noffke’s replacement and has issued a formal advertisement inviting applications for the bowling coach position.

The new coach will be responsible for both Pakistan’s red-ball and white-ball teams, with applicants required to have at least five years of coaching experience and Level 3 coaching qualifications.

The PCB will accept applications until October 8.

Noffke’s stint with Pakistan

Noffke joined Pakistan’s coaching setup in May last year and also served as the team’s interim bowling coach during the Birmingham Test.

The PCB had previously removed former Pakistan fast bowler Umar Gul from the bowling coach position during the team’s England tour.

With Noffke’s departure, the board has begun the process of appointing a permanent bowling coach to work across the national team’s Test and limited-overs assignments.
