Police encounters across Sindh: arrests, escapes, and fatalities reported

KARACHI: Several alleged police encounters have been reported across various cities in Sindh, including Karachi, Ghotki, and Hyderabad.

In Paposh Nagar, a neighbourhood in Karachi, an alleged police encounter took place between the law enforcers and a suspect. The accused was injured during the encounter with the law enforcers and was taken into custody immediately.

According to the police, the accused is involved in petty street crime.

Similarly, in Block 19 of al-Noor Society in Gulberg Town, another alleged police encounter led to the arrest of an injured suspect. His accomplice managed to escape, however.

As per police, arms and a motorcycle were confiscated from the accused.

In Buffer Zone, a neighbourhood in Karachi, yet another alleged encounter between the local police and suspects took place. It ended with the arrest of a suspect who sustained injuries during the confrontation.

As per the law enforcement, the injured accused was transferred to a hospital for medical treatment.

Meanwhile in Hyderabad, police encountered armed assailants in outside the Phalili police station. The encounter resulted in arrests of suspects involved in motorcycle theft.

As per police reports, arms and stolen motorcycles were recovered from the arrested. One of the arrested suspects lost his life while receiving treatment at the civil hospital.

In Ghotki, near the Motorway M5 bridge, an alleged encounter unfolded between the local law enforcers and suspects.

According to the police, the three suspects were killed during the encounter. Other accomplices of the accused sustained injuries and are currently being pursued by law enforcement authorities.

The bodies and weapons of the deceased robbers have been confiscated by the police, with arrangements being made to shift them to the district hospital in Ubauro.
