President Zardari confers civil award on top chinese surgeon during state visit

WEB DESK: President Asif Ali Zardari has conferred the Sitara-e-Pakistan upon Professor Pan Xiang Bin during a special investiture ceremony held in Changsha, Hunan Province.
The ceremony took place as part of the President’s week-long state visit to China, aimed at bolstering the “all-weather” strategic partnership between the two nations.
Strengthening diplomatic ties
According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry, President Zardari’s visit, which spans from 25 April to 1 May, coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Islamabad and Beijing.
Spokesperson Lin Jian confirmed during a press briefing on Monday that the visit underscores the steady advancement of bilateral ties at a high level.
The President’s itinerary includes significant engagements in both Hunan and Hainan provinces, highlighting a focus on regional cooperation beyond the capital.
A shared future for cooperation
The spokesperson further emphasised that China remains committed to working alongside Pakistan to enhance friendly exchanges and practical cooperation across various sectors.
By engaging at multiple regional levels, both nations aim to solidify the framework of a China-Pakistan community with a shared future.
The conferment of the Sitara-e-Pakistan on Professor Pan is seen as a gesture of deep gratitude for his contributions to medical collaboration, reflecting the people-to-people bond that serves as the foundation of the bilateral relationship.
