Ramadan working hours announced for IHC, subordinate courts

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) and its subordinate courts have announced revised working hours for the holy month of Ramadan. The notification was issued by the Registrar’s Office with the approval of IHC Chief Justice Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar.
Under the new schedule, hearings in the IHC will be conducted as follows:
- Monday to Thursday: Single bench hearings from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, followed by a court break from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM. (Division bench hearings will resume from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM.)
- Friday: Hearings will be held from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
Office working hours for the High Court have also been adjusted:
- Monday to Thursday: 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM
- Friday: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Subordinate courts have been directed to follow the revised hours as well:
- Monday to Thursday: 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM
- Friday: 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with hearings continuing until 12:00 PM
The move aims to accommodate the fasting schedule of judges, staff, and lawyers during Ramadan while ensuring the timely disposal of cases.
