PM Shehbaz, Dmytro Kuleba call for diplomatic settlement to Russia-Ukraine conflict

ISLAMABAD: Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday and briefed him on the Russian-Ukraine war.
Kuleba recalled that their countries had always enjoyed long-standing and cordial relations grounded in cooperation and friendship with the common objective to contribute towards global peace and regional stability.
Both the leaders resolved to enhance the bilateral relations between the two countries in diverse fields such as trade, investment, defence, education and culture.
The PM highlighted that the conflict in Ukraine has had a significant global impact that has hurt the economies of several countries.
They stressed the need for a negotiated and diplomatic settlement in line with the UN Charter.
Separately, delegation-level talks were also held between Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and his Ukrainian counterpart.
After the meeting, both the leaders addressed a joint conference where Bilawal said “we have agreed on the importance of regular dialogue and engagements to further strengthen the bilateral ties”.
