Angelina Jolie urges immediate ceasefire in Israel-Gaza conflict

WEB DESK: Hollywood actress and philanthropist Angelina Jolie has added her voice to the growing calls for an immediate ceasefire as the humanitarian crisis escalates in the Israel-Gaza conflict.

In a heartfelt post shared on her official Instagram account, the Academy Award-winning star expressed her deep concern over the recent violence.

“Like millions around the world, I have spent the last weeks sick and angry at the terrorist attack in Israel, the death of so many innocent civilians, and wondering how best to help,” she began.

Jolie continued by denouncing the recent events, stating, “What happened in Israel is an act of terror. But that cannot justify the innocent lives lost in bombing a civilian population in Gaza that has nowhere to go, no access to food or water, no possibility of evacuation, and not even the basic human right to cross a border to seek refuge.”

The actress also voiced her concerns about the Israeli blockade of Gaza, stating, “The limited aid trucks entering Gaza are just a fraction of what is needed, and the daily bombings are creating desperate new humanitarian needs.”
