Sacha Baron Cohen responds to Rebel Wilson’s accusations in new memoir

In a dispute over Wilson's upcoming memoir

WEB DESK: In a dispute over Wilson’s upcoming memoir “Rebel Rising,” scheduled for publication next week, actress Rebel Wilson and comedian Sacha Baron Cohen were engaged in a heated exchange.

Wilson stated that a chapter of her memoir is dedicated to Sacha Baron Cohen, whom she has accused of sending her threats to prevent her from publishing certain details about their professional relationship.

The conflict arose after Wilson initially talked about an unnamed “massive jerk” she had worked with in Hollywood, who had allegedly hired Public Relations (PR) teams and lawyers to prevent her from disclosing information about him in her memoir.

She publicly identified Baron Cohen in a recent Instagram post, asserting her resolve not to be intimidated by his legal actions.

Baron Cohen’s spokesperson was quick to refute Wilson’s claims, stating that they were false and would be disproved by evidence, including documents, film footage, and eyewitness accounts related to their collaboration on the film ” The Brothers Grimsby”. The spokesperson said that Cohen’s legal team was prepared to support their case with “comprehensive evidence”.

Wilson had previously recounted her challenging experience working with Baron Cohen on the set of “Grimsby,” alleging inappropriate behavior on his part.

However, Baron Cohen’s team maintained that Wilson’s claims in her memoir were baseless and would be contested.

Despite the controversy, Wilson’s memoir was expected to provide readers with candid insights into her life and career, including her interactions with various industry figures.
