All political activists of JI released

ISLAMABAD: All the political workers of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Islamabad including Ameer Nasrullah Randhawa have been released.

In a statement issued by Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary Information Qaiser Sharif, it was said that the police released all the workers arrested in Islamabad last evening, while the administration also returned the seized equipment for the Gaza march.

He added that the Gaza march announced by Jamaat-e-Islami will be as per schedule and will end at Embassy Road at the US Embassy and Amir Jamaat-e-Islami will address the march at half past four.

It should be noted that Islamabad administration arrested several activists and leaders while refusing to allow Jamaat-e-Islami to march outside the US embassy, while one of the leaders suffered a heart attack during detention.

In connection with the march, camps were set up by Jamaat-e-Islami on the roads and passes, but when the preparations started, the police stopped them and seized all the equipment and demolished the camps. – INP
