LAHORE: The Pakistani entertainment sector suffered a huge blow following the demise of veteran director Altaf Hussain, a venerated movie director who passed away on Monday.

The entertainment industry veteran passed away aged 79 after a prolonged illness.

Altaf Hussain helmed more than 80 movies throughout his career in Lollywood, leaving a lasting influence in both, Punjabi and Urdu movie industries.

The veteran remain actively involved in moviemaking until his final days. HE recently commenced production on his latest venture “Tere Pyaar Nu Salam”, mere days before his passing.

Hussain’s most famous works include “Aik Pagal si Larki”, “Mard Jeene Nahi Dete” and “Meri Rani”. His contribution not only entertained viewers but enriched the entertainment industry of Pakistan.

Condolences poured in from across the country as peers and admirers alike expressed shock and sadness over his passing. The Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar conveyed his sympathies. He called Altaf Hussain as “invaluable asset” to the country’s movie sector.

Tarar also highlighted the veteran director’s quality of work, saying that his legacy would endure for generation.

“The passing of Altaf Hussain represents an irreplaceable loss not only for the film community but for the nation as a whole”, the minister remarked.

Hussain’s legacy is defined by his talent for creating engaging narratives that resonated with the audiences. His movies frequently delved into themes of romance, familial bonds and societal challenges.

As a director, he fleshed out a powerful performance from his cast, with a keen eye for detail.

The Lollywood director is survived by his wife, a daughter and a son. As tributes flow in, arrangements for Hussain’s funeral are expected to be shared soon,.
