An organised illegal spectrum behind terrorism: Army Chief

BAHAWALPUR: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir has said that there is a systematic illegal spectrum behind terrorism, which is backed by certain elements.
The army chief made these remarks while addressing students in Bahawalpur. The COAS said that whenever the state takes action against this spectrum, false claims from their side come to the forefront.

He said that as long as the great mothers continue to sacrifice their children for Pakistan, no one can harm us. He said, “No one can harm us as long as the nation, especially the youth keeps standing by our forces.”
General Asim Munir added, “We should never forget our beliefs, ancestors and social values. For the sake of national development, every one of us must play our part in lightening the way forward.”
He said that instead of indiscriminate criticism, “your focus should be on your own performance and duties.”
ARMY CHIEF VISITS BAHAWALPUR CORPS
Earlier, the COAS visited Bahawalpur Cantonment, where he was received by the Corps Commander Bahawalpur and given a briefing on the operational preparations and training affairs of the Bahawalpur Corps.
A statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) yesterday said that the Army Chief praised the high morale and war preparations of the officers. He said, “Rigorous training is the foundation of a soldier’s professional development,” adding that the Pakistan Army should be an important feature in overcoming the challenges of modern war.

He inaugurated CMH Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS), Invista Cholistan and the Integrated Combat Simulator Arena. He also spoke to students from various universities in Bahawalpur, the ISPR said.
The Army Chief praised the key role of youth in forming the future of Pakistan and reaffirmed support for army’s initiatives for empowering young talent.
