Police check post comes under attack in Bannu

BANNU: Unidentified assailants launched an attack on a police check post in Bannu, two days after an attack on Bannu Cantonment.

All police personnel stationed at the check post remained unharmed.

The attackers opened fire, prompting a swift retaliatory response from the police, which forced them to flee.

The thermal camera installed at the check post was damaged during the attack.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Imran Shahid visited the site to assess the situation and met with the officials. He commended their vigorous response in thwarting the attack.

This incident comes on the heels of a recent suicide attack on Bannu Cantonment, where eight soldiers of the Pakistan army were martyred. In retaliation, 10 terrorists were killed.
