The general reflected on the meaning of Pakistan’s independence, stating that it was the result of the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the sacrifices made by countless Muslims in India.

He said that Pakistan’s establishment was not merely about acquiring territory but was the fruition of immense sacrifices, shaping the nation’s identity and spirit.

Addressing the Independence Parade, Munir expressed deep respect for the leaders of the Pakistan Movement. He talked about the numerous sacrifices made by the country’s founders.

The army chief noted that the nation’s resilience has been strengthened through trials, and this enduring perseverance has played a critical role in overcoming difficulties.

General Munir said that the mutual trust between the nation and its armed forces was important for national stability. He warned that chaos and confusion could weaken the country from within and pave the way for external threats.

He stated that weakening Pakistan’s military equateed to weakening the nation itself. The army, he said, will continue to stand firm in protecting and advancing the country’s interests.

In his address, the general also touched on regional issues, stating that Pakistan supported its neighbouring country, Afghanistan, and advocating for good relations. He called for Afghanistan to prioritise its relationship with Pakistan over extremist elements.

The army chief voiced strong support for the Kashmiri people’s struggle for self-determination. He condemned the ongoing violations by Israel in Gaza, describing them as serious breaches of human rights and international law.

Munir commended Pakistan’s advocacy for a peaceful resolution to the Palestinian issue and acknowledged the support of international allies, including China, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, and Turkey, during challenging times.

The general concluded his speech by celebrating the bright future of Pakistan. He called on the youth to embrace their role in ensuring a stable future for the country, saying that Pakistan, as a divine gift, is destined to thrive.
