Bushra Bibi granted bail in Toshakhana-2 case

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday granting bail to Bushra Bibi, wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, in the Toshakhana- 2 case has ordered her immediate release.
Hearing the post-arrest bail plea of Bushra Bibi, IHC Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb questioned the prosecuting lawyer if Bushra Bibi did not submit the gifts, why PTI founder Imran Khan was made an accused.
Prosecutor Majeed replied that because her husband was a public office holder.

Drawing an analogy of the Qazi Faez Isa assets case with Toshakhana case against Bushra Bibi Justice Aurnagzeb said in this case too the husband is being held responsible for the actions of his wife.
Justice Aurangzeb asked the prosecutor what will happen if she [Bushra Bibi] returns the gift.
Prosecutor Majeed replied that there was a provision of plea bargain in the NAB law. But that provision was not available in Toshakhana law.
IHC Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb accepting the post-arrest bail plea of Bushra Bibi against Rs1 million surety bonds ordered authorities concerned to immediately release the former first lady.
