Deaths, injuries, apprehensions in multiple incidents in Karachi


KARACHI: A firing incident in Yaroo Khan Goth in New Karachi has left one dead and injured another individual.

The incident occurred when a hotel owner mistakenly opened fire on two individuals, whom he took for robbers, according to police. One of the victims succumbed to injuries during treatment, while the other is currently under medical care. Police have arrested the suspect involved in the shooting.

In a separate shooting incident near the market 24 of Baldia town, one person was injured. Rescue sources confirmed that the wounded individual has been shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. 

Meanwhile, an injured suspect was arrested following an alleged encounter between the Site Super Highway Police and two miscreants. The other suspect, however, managed to escape. During the encounter, law enforcement authorities also recovered a stolen motorcycle, weapons, and cash.

Another alleged police encounter took place in Ahsanabad, where an accused was arrested in an injured state. The accomplice of the arrested suspect, however, managed to flee the scene. Police seized firearms, mobile phones, and a motorcycle from the captured suspect.

Two suspects were arrested in an injured state in another alleged police encounter near Sector 5 Degree College in North Karachi. The accused have been shifted to a hospital. The police recovered two pistols, mobile phones, and a motorcycle from the apprehended individuals.

A fatal motorcycle accident near Jumma Goth claimed one life. The body of the deceased has been shifted to Jinnah Hospital, according to rescue sources. Meanwhile, two others were killed in two separate traffic accidents that occurred near the Superhighway Punjab bus stand and Shahrah Faisal Karsaz, rescue sources confirmed.

Police arrested an injured suspect during another encounter in North Nazimabad Block R, while his accomplice managed to escape. Police seized weapons, a mobile phone, and a motorcycle from the arrested individual.

The Counter Terrorism Department’s (CTD) Investigation Unit successfully apprehended a fugitive target killer from University Road. According to CTD spokesperson, the accused had joined police as a constable in 1990 but later turned a fugitive after being involved in the murder of a citizen. The Session Court Sukkur had issued a death sentence for him, leading to his subsequent arrest.

One person was injured in another shooting incident that took place on Gulshan Abul Hassan Isphahani Road. Rescue workers shifted the injured individual to the hospital.

Police and Rangers arrested three suspects in a joint raid in Baldia Town. Rangers spokesperson revealed that the arrested suspects were involved in more than 200 criminal incidents. During interrogations, they confessed to their involvement in over 300 mobile phone thefts, looting 1.5 million rupees, and stealing 18 motorcycles. It was further disclosed that on May 19, the arrested accused had shot a citizen and robbed him of 2 lakh rupees. An investigation is underway into the matter.
