Electricity theft crackdown recovers Rs20.47 bn, thousands arrested

ISLAMABAD: The nationwide crackdown against electricity theft has resulted in the recovery of a total of Rs20.47 billion, according to Secretary Power Division Rashid Langrial.
The ongoing series of actions targets electricity thieves, with a focus on disconnecting illegal connections across the country.
Taking to his X, Langrial further reported that the relentless efforts have also led to the arrest of 15,167 individuals involved in electricity theft, with legal measures taken against 137 employees.

Furthermore, Langrial acknowledged the commendable efforts of young officers such as Sub-Divisional Police Officer Shahdadkot Muhammad Aziz, who displayed exceptional dedication to their duty, putting their lives at considerable risk.
