Fog situation update: Fog to persist in Islamabad, Punjab tonight

ISLAMABAD: According to the Meteorological Department, tonight, plain areas in Islamabad, Punjab, upper Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are anticipated to experience fog and smog.
Concurrently, cold and dry weather is expected across most regions of the country tonight, with the northern areas and northern Balochistan likely to face severe cold temperatures.
Tonight, coastal areas of western Balochistan and Makran may experience light rainfall.
On Wednesday, Islamabad is expected to endure cold and dry weather, possibly accompanied by severe cold and fog in the city and Gorakhpur. Across most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a cold and dry climate is anticipated, with the upper districts likely to face severe cold. Specifically, Charsadda, Mardan, Nowshera, Swabi, Peshawar, and Lakki Marwat are expected to experience severe fog.
Likewise, the majority of districts in Punjab are set to encounter cold and dry conditions, whereas Murree, Galyat, and other hilly terrains will witness severe cold accompanied by partly cloudy conditions. Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Sahiwal, Qasur, and Lahore are likely to grapple with severe fog and smog.

Sialkot, Jhelum, Faisalabad, Sargodha, and Jhang may also experience severe fog and smog. Khanewal, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, Bhakkar, Layyah, and the surrounding areas may have fog and smog. In Balochistan, most districts will have cold and dry weather.
Karachi will have a cloudy sky with the possibility of light rain and banding. In Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, severe cold and dry weather are expected.
