ISLAMABAD: The deadline for submitting Hajj 2025 applications is set to expire today (Tuesday), with over 54,000 applications already received.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Religious Affairs confirmed that the regular quota is likely to be filled by today.

The installment-based payment system introduced under the regular Hajj scheme has attracted more applicants compared to previous years, according to the ministry.

Once the application process concludes, the Hajj 2025 flight schedule will be finalised.

The government has allocated a quota of 89,605 pilgrims for this year, allowing overseas Pakistanis to participate through sponsorships.

Last month, the Ministry of Religious Affairs introduced the Hajj 2025 policy, allowing pilgrims to pay their fees in installments for the first time.

Under the government scheme, applicants must pay the first installment of Rs 200,000 ($717) along with their Hajj application. A second installment of Rs 400,000 ($1,435) is required within ten days of the ballot results. The remaining balance must be paid by February 10, 2025.

The Pakistan government has announced a major reduction in Hajj 2025 airfares, cutting ticket prices by Rs 14,000. Pilgrims under the federal program will now pay Rs 220,000 for airfare, compared to last year’s Rs 234,000. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Saudi Airlines, and other private carriers have agreed to this relief package, according to officials.

The draw for the government’s Hajj scheme is scheduled for December 6.
