Karachi: A celebratory display of aerial firing during the Independence Day festivities in Karachi turned tragic, resulting in the loss of two lives and causing injuries to more than 80 individuals.
The incidents occurred in various neighborhoods of the city.
In a jubilant yet unfortunate turn of events, revelers engaged in aerial firing to commemorate Pakistan’s Independence Day.

The celebratory gunfire took place in multiple locations, including Lyari, Garden, Landhi, Korangi, Mehmoodabad, New Karachi, Bilal Colony, and Garden, leading to a distressing toll of over 80 injuries.
Tragically, amidst the exuberance, a woman lost her life when she was struck by a bullet of unknown origin in the vicinity of Numaish Chowrangi.
Rescue sources have reported that 24 of the injured have been transported to Civil Hospital, while 29 are receiving medical attention at Jinnah Hospital, and a further 30 are being treated at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
The incident serves as a somber reminder of the potential dangers associated with celebratory gunfire, underscoring the need for heightened awareness and responsible celebrations during festive occasions.
