ISLAMABAD: Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, rejecting claims that Bushra Bibi was taking control said that Imran Khan is the sole leader of the party.
In an interview with the Voice of America (VOA), Aleema Khan rejecting claims that Bushra Bibi was taking control of the party said, “There is only one leader, and that is Imran Khan”.
Aleema Khan also denied allegations made by Bushra Bibi’s aide, Mashal Yousafzai, regarding her brother’s involvement in the call to march towards D-Chowk.
“Mashal Yousafzai is lying”, she asserted and clarified that Imran Khan had issued instructions to the party through Salman Akram Raja on November 21, not regarding the D-Chowk protest.
Yousafzai, a close aide of former First Lady Bushra Bibi, had earlier claimed that Imran Khan directed the controversial protest. She told a private news channel on November 28, “Bushra Bibi was entrusted with a responsibility by Imran Khan, and she acted on his behalf.”

The protest march, which began on November 24 and ended abruptly on November 26, witnessed violent clashes between PTI supporters and security forces. Several casualties and injuries, including among security personnel, were reported.
Aleema Khan criticized the party’s handling of the situation, stating that workers and supporters lacked clear instructions from the leadership. She added that no party leaders consulted her or her family before initiating or concluding the three-day protest.
The clashes also led to the dismissal of Mashal Yousafzai from her role as Special Assistant to Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on November 28.
PTI’s protest march aimed to press the government for three key demands: the repeal of the 26th Constitutional Amendment, the release of political prisoners, and the restoration of what they termed their “stolen mandate.”
