The Interior Minister also directed for the provision of quality accommodation facilities to the officers under training, and sought the master plan of the NPA.

“A new master plan of the academy should be prepared by an international standard consultant,” he said, adding that Rs250 million will be handed over to the NPA soon by the National Police Foundation.

The interior minister also announced plans to make the NPA into a financially autonomous institution. “The work of restructuring the National Police Academy should be completed in three months,” Naqvi directed, along with orders to take immediate necessary steps to give the NPA the status of a university.

The course of Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) should be made according to the requirements of the modern era, Mohsin Naqvi said. “Courses in counter-terrorism, anti-riots, cyber and other fields will also be launched in the academy,” he added.

The interior minister also said that the best officers will be appointed in the NPA like the Military Academy in Kakul. “The officers appointed to the Police Academy will be provided with better allowances and facilities,” he said.

“Model police stations and training laboratories will also be set up in the National Police Academy so that officers can be trained in this regard,” the interior minister announced.
