ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has achieved nearly 90 per cent completion in the installation of new LED lights, repair, and maintenance of existing street lights along the streets, service roads, and main avenues of Islamabad.

As per recent reports, the authority had allocated funds for this purpose last month.

This initiative not only ensures a well-lit environment on these thoroughfares but also plays a crucial role in curbing criminal activities in the federal capital.

A CDA official highlighted that the recent surge in street crimes in various sectors of Islamabad was attributed to the shortage of street lights.

Concerned residents brought this issue to the attention of the relevant authorities.

According to reports, the CDA is actively addressing this concern, taking concrete measures to provide essential urban amenities to the city’s residents, including the installation of street lights, road maintenance, and resolution of water-related issues that were previously neglected.

Furthermore, special emphasis is being placed on completing the outstanding development works in sectors I, G, H, and D of Islamabad.

The aim is to ensure the provision of civic facilities and support home builders in alignment with the directives of Chairman CDA, emphasising the overall development and well-being of the city.
