Islamabad police inspector arrested on corruption charges

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Corruption Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Monday arrested Islamabad Police Inspector Mansoor Ahmed on corruption charges.

The inspector is accused of accepting a bribe of Rs250,000 from a private citizen facing murder charges.

According to the FIA, the accused allegedly took bribes regularly using associates on the ground.

The FIA have registered a case against the accused and started investigation.

The federal agency earlier in the month launched an anti-money laundering case against people accused of running an e-commerce scam exceeding Rs140 million in Karachi.

The accused persons allegedly utilised credit cards to book items for purchase, and then requested refunds by cancelling the orders.

The FIA arrested the accused after a detailed investigation by the Cybercrime Circle Karachi.
