ISPR strongly reacts to Indian army chief’s statement

ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi’s statement calling Pakistan a center of terrorism is against the facts, said a statement by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday. The statement was made for political purposes, the ISPR said.

Indian army chief’s statement is also a futile exercise in beating the dead horse of his country’s default position, the ISPR said, adding that blaming Pakistan for state-sponsored brutality is a classic case of extreme duplicity of India.

The statement from India is an attempt to divert the world’s attention from India’s brutality in Kashmir, and the oppression of minorities in India, the ISPR said. “The world is a witness to India’s hate speech gatherings, and to the speeches that incites genocide against Muslims,” the ISPR statement added.

ISPR said that the world is witnessing India’s killing and is not oblivious to the devastation.

The ISPR said that instead of blaming Pakistan, it would be wise for India to not indulge in self-deception and accept the ground realities. “The sad fact is that a senior serving Indian military officer was caught red-handed while planning terrorist acts against innocent civilians inside Pakistan,” the ISPR said.

The statement issued by the ISPR also shared that the senior serving Indian military officer in concern is in Pakistan’s custody. “It seems that the Indian Army Chief conveniently ignored this matter,” the statement added.

Pakistan strongly denies the baseless statement of the Indian Army Chief and expresses sympathy with the civilians affected by the brutality of the Indian Army, the ISPR said.

“The world is aware of the oppressive use of force by Indian forces against innocent civilians and serious human rights violations against unarmed Kashmiris,” the ISPR said, adding that Indian oppression has further strengthened the resolve of Kashmiris to their right to self-determination as enshrined in UN Security Council resolutions.
