Bad weather: flights to and from Karachi cancelled

KARACHI: The flight operation at Karachi airport faced a sudden disruption as adverse weather conditions forced the cancellation of multiple flights.

According to Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), a total of four domestic flights destined for Karachi were grounded, adding to the woes of passengers expecting to touch down in the coastal city.

Additionally, flights originating from Islamabad and Lahore towards Karachi were also among those axed due to the inclement weather.

Furthermore, Karachi itself experienced a wave of cancellations, with a staggering seven domestic flights within the city’s airspace affected by the adverse weather conditions.

The impact of the weather extended beyond Karachi, affecting inbound flights destined for Islamabad, Lahore, and Sukkur, which were also halted amidst safety concerns.

Among the disrupted routes was a flight scheduled from Karachi to Jeddah, which was subsequently cancelled, as confirmed by Civil Aviation authorities.

As travelers grapple with the inconvenience caused by these cancellations, authorities advise passengers to stay updated on the latest developments and make necessary adjustments to their travel plans accordingly.

There is a possibility of light rain in Karachi on Monday and Tuesday, due to which the cold will increase.

According to Met office, there is a possibility of drizzle and light rain at some places in the city on Monday and Tuesday.

Due to foggy and light rain in Karachi on Monday, the minimum temperature was recorded as low as 12 degrees Celsius.
