Khyber Pakhtunkhwa govt’s flight to Bishkek delayed over clearance issue

Bishkek

PESHAWAR: A scheduled flight by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to transport 300 students from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan to Peshawar has been delayed. The private plane arranged for the flight could not depart as it failed to receive landing clearance from the Kyrgyzstan Civil Aviation Authority, according to a provincial government spokesman.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Advisor Barrister Saif confirmed that the provincial government had made arrangements to bring back a total of 600 students on two separate flights. The planes, which are currently on standby at Lahore Airport, will depart as soon as the necessary airfield clearance is granted.

“The provincial government has already released the required funds to a private airline,” said Barrister Saif. “We are in constant communication with the relevant authorities and are awaiting clearance.”

The Director General of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Mohammad Qaiser, also reassured that the flight will proceed as planned once clearance is received. “The plane will depart immediately upon receiving airfield clearance,” he stated.
